I recently purchased this Plantation 20th ($55) and tasted against my Ron Zacapa XO ($102). Two totally different rums for sure but at half the price of the RZXO, I personally rather buy two of these. My go to rum for mixers and parties is the Plantation 5 YR ($22) at an awesome price. This is similar to the 5yr with depth and complexity. I personally taste a banana creme brulee.
If you’re a cigar smoker, go with Ron Zacapa for the better pairing. Plantation 20th a great little sipper that won’t break the bank. For the money, hands down one of the best rums I’ve ever had. Great vid boys.

There’s a bit of a gay vibe going on here… the way the smaller guy eyes the bigger dude.

Good stuff! I’ve only had the standard expression but it really impressed me as well. So much bourbon barrel character.

Kim Smith says:

Coconut, banana, and sweet!!!!,,,yummy. Will buy one for dessert for sure. Is it similar to remy martin 1738 ? Please let me know.

Darwin's Beer Reviews says:

Sounds incredible. Glad to see you do a rum review on here. Mixing things up.

Behold! It Knits says:

This is a good sweet/dessert style rum. If you want to try the other end of the spectrum my go-to is Smith and Cross. Navy strength, funky, estery, Jamaican rum with no additives or added sugar and a decent price to boot. It’s pretty widely available, afaik.

noobapple says:

Try seeking out cask strength rums bottled by Velier. Unlike the one you’ve had here, those are completely unadulterated by sugar or caramel. Man do those pack a punch!

amazingly classy birthday gift.
