Whiskey Review #226 ‘Eagle Rare’ Kentucky Straight Bourbon… YouTube

Eagle Rare

Eagle Rare Bourbon Whiskey is masterfully crafted and carefully aged for no less than ten years. Every barrel is discriminately selected to offer consistent flavor but with a seemingly individual personality. Eagle Rare is a bourbon that lives up to its name with its lofty, distinctive taste experience.

The nose is complex, with aromas of toffee, hints of orange peel, herbs, honey, leather and oak. The taste is bold, dry and delicate with notes of candied almonds and very rich cocoa. The finish is dry and lingering.

Excellent review! Sounds like a steal at $35-$40us.

Ronald McCoy says:

this and four roses small batch/single barrel are my go to daily bourbons.

speed rakk says:

what i mean by 10 year buffaloe trace is the mashbill.they both have the same mashbill.and eagle rare is all ten year.

Raul Soto says:

I had the same experience when I first opened mine to try. I was excited to try it given all of that pleasant reviews but found it to be a bit of an average. I wasn’t too disappointed since the price point isn’t bad to me but I did worry that my palate wasn’t picking up the same experience others were. However I tried it a couple of weeks later and have absolutely loved it ever since.

Martin Collmer says:

I got a bottle about 8 months ago on sale at local Liquor City in Dewitt NY for about $28. It was OK but there are so many good Bourbons to try I have not revisited (meaning buying another bottle – finished that one) it yet.
By the way, your music by Dan Pancaldi is great. I would watch you channel just for that – almost – but I like you guys too.

Rhodney Garrison says:

one of my favorite bourbon

FoxHound says:

I knew eagle rare was done by buffalo trace but i didn’t actually know blantons was too.. that was a suprise to me…

speed rakk says:

when the bottle gets about 30% down the taste changes immensely . for the good. caramel and vanilla overload.

deez nutz says:

Buffalo trace products are difficult to find where i live, but luckily i was able to pick up a bottle of eagle rare last week. I’ll be sipping it as soon as i finish my Glenmorangie

Jack Bramhall says:

This was my first bourbon ever. Hooked my right into the bourbon world ! This is a fantastic bourbon! Can’t beat the price!

Frank lampard says:

You guys ought to try the WL Weller 12 year. I would be interested to hear your opinion.

Adam Stephenson says:

this is one of my top picks too, I’m still in my first year of bourbon and I’ve really come to enjoy everything I’ve  had from the buffalo trace distillery. Im really hoping to score something from the BTAC this year. are you guys hunting some down this year?

Rockdoc St Augustine says:

Will purchase this week.

speed rakk says:

unfortunately , this is the way of the future on all whiskey fronts.no age statements are the norm nowadays.heck, eagle rare is no longer single barrel and i expect the adding of younger whiskey’s eventually.demand is higher than the stock.especially at a 26 to 28 dollar price point .( in the new hampshire state liquor store).32 to 37 in eastern massachusetts.

Douglas Pettit says:

no they haven’t removed the 10 year age statement….

Frank lampard says:

I had a bottle of this earlier this year. I found it got better a few weeks after I opened it. It seemed a little more ’rounded’ and nicer on the finish.

Francis Ducharme says:

A lot of reviews sound the same: liked it less back then than now and people rate it favorably. First time I see it around here, so I’m grabbing two bottles! 🙂

Liza Moratto says:

So glad you guys reviewed this and liked it. Hands down best mass production bourbon for the price point. Liquor cabinet staple.

Patrick van Elewout says:

Mmmmm… tempting…http://m.drankdozijn.nl/artikel/fles-eagle-rare-10-years-70cl … other design, but with an unmistakable 10 yrs on the neck for only €38…

Pradeep Rajkumar says:

Please review STRATHISLA 12 year old SINGLE MALT… Dear Captains..

MRKTM690smc says:

I have about 3/4 of a bottle I will have to revisit… I was also not impressed the first time I tried it.

jerry bennett says:

One of my favorite bourbons

dhsilv2 says:

This has always been called by many as a “shooting” bourbon due to how smooth it is. It is also my understanding that this is the same juice as buffalo trace, just aged in a premium location compared to the buffalo trace. For me I generally favor the buffalo trace. Both have become difficult to find locally, they show up and vanish in no time.

Art vandaley says:

I thought that eagle rare tasted like marshmallows
