Writer’s Tears, Lagavulin 16, Aberlour Abunadh, Glenmorangie Nectar d’Or, Balvenie Doublewood, Smokehead, Woodford Reserve Double Oaked, Whistle Pig, Glenlivet 15, Jim Beam signature craft
Hey guys id love to see your thoughts on Red Breast 12. I was thinking of picking up a bottle but it would be great to see your opinions first since I have no one to mooch it off
Just did a tour and tasting of this, interested to see what they think. I was not a huge fan of there whiskey, but the gin was really good.
Grand Mooch Poobah i have a bone to pick. We have similar palettes sweet, fruit, cream (“pretty” as Daniel would say). i am now enamored with trying the Elmer T Lee bourbon, Angels Envy, Balblair 2002. i have searched 5 counties. is there an alternative that is delicious as either of these?
Daniel on an old video you gave a food pairing with the whiskey. can you start doing that? i dont want to go try a new whiskey and have ruined my palette with some fried chicken when i should have ordered the steak.
I can recommend the following 10:
Strathisla 12, Aberlour 10, Macallan Green Label (Select Oak), Talisker 10, Woodford Reserve, Jura Origin, Ardbeg 10, Hibiki Harmony, Monkey Shoulder, Highland Park 12
You Guys are Awesome so much Knowledge
Not in order,

9. Balvenie 12 doublewood
10. Bowmore 15
I recently was able to mooch a brora 37 from a coworker at a cocktail party last week, was one of the best scotch’s ive ever had, and probably my most legendary mooch.
Q:Why did the hipster burn his mouth?
A: Because he ate his pizza before it was cool…
Can you guys do a widow jane bloody butcher or 10 year?
LMAO. Go you crazies.
Ok so after reading all the comments got a lot of repeated whiskys, so ill go with the ten most democratic jajaj:
-Dalmore 12
-Highland Park 12
-Laphroaig 10
-Angel’s Envy
-Balvenie Double Wood 12
-Glenmorangie (Nectar D’or) or just the 10
-Hibiki Harmony
-Maker’s Mark
-Jack daniels (any)
-johnnie walker (black or double black)
I’ll start the quest and hopefully have them all at the same time and not emptying the first bottles 🙂
BTW, you all filmed this on my birthday this year as well.
The like on this video is dedicated to the head banging. Rex your glorious mane gives me happy dreams
I made a t-shirt dad joke.. https://lawnd4rt.threadless.com/designs/command-o (shameless plug, sorta)
Eagle and wolf
Not common knowledge but Rex’s necklace was inspired by the moochingest of animals; the trash panda (aka raccoon) and household dog (at the dinner table).
1. Talisker 10
2. Jura Origin
3. Laphroaig 10
4. Elijah Craig
5. Bulliet Rye
6. Johnnie Walker Double Black
7. Bowmore Darkest 15
8. Oban 14
9. Jameson Black Barrel
10. Macallan Amber
Now if we are talking $100 Canadian I might have to swap out Oban and maybe Macallan or Bowmore (Saskatchewan has ridiculous liquor taxes/prices), but I think these are all well under $100 USD.
Hey Rex! Want to hear a joke about a piece of paper? Probably not, it’s tearable.
man, joe dont screw around.

You guys are awesome. Might finally get me to try Scotch again(terrible experience the first time)! I lean towards Bourbon, likely because I enjoy sweet things, I’ve had to swear off soda. BUT if it wasn’t for people calling it sweet, I wouldn’t classify it as such. I’ve only been really getting into Whiskey for the last few months or so; aside from time spent drinking, is there anything to look for to find this sweetness you guys talk about?
Also curious about your thoughts on Maker’s Mark. Just finished my first glass and…I’m not sure what to think, it almost tastes sour. My current favorites are Jim Beam and Bulleit. It goes down quite a bit differently than those.
So for “most variety under $100”, I’m going to use prices my American friends pay, since Ontario is a cruel, cruel place to buy whisky.
1. Lagavulin 16
2. Talisker 10
3. Springbank 10
4. Aberlour 16
5. Four Roses Single Barrel
6. Wiser’s Dissertation
7. Glendronach 12
8. Benromach 10
9. Ardbeg 10
10. Glengoyne 15
11. Dalwhinnie 15
would you review the Charles goodnight bourbon?
Daniel: “i like it both ways.” Me: “thats what she said!”
First thing’s first. 1) I am cheap, 2) I am fairly new to sipping whiskey, 3) I prefer friendly and pretty whiskeys that are fruit forward and floral/spicy. Here are my favorites so far… Four Roses Small Batch, Four Roses Single Barrel, Elijah Craig, Buffalo Trace, Stranahan’s, Jameson, Forty Creek, Jim Beam Black, Jim Beam Bonded, Larceny.
