Cognac Review: De Luze XO

This is a lesser known Cognac brand, but that is no reflection on how great this spirit is. 70% of the grapes sourced for this Cognac come from Grand Champagne and that tells you something. It will taste amazing. I find Cognac producers who source a lot or a high proportion of their grapes from Borderies and other surrounding regions outside of Grand Champagne or Petite Champagne are invariably inferior.

ABV
40%

Grade
XO (Extra Old) meaning no eau de vie making up this Cognac are less than ten years old, but it gets even better! The average age of the eau de vie making up this spirit is 20 years, which I don’t think can be said for any other XO cognac.

The taste? Amazing! Check out my review for more details.

Take care,

Jason Debly

I think I need to go and get a bottle for Christmas – the flavors you mention seem perfect for sipping after Christmas dinner

Great review as expected! Only had a few cognacs in the past year or so but firm favourites came from Léopold Gourmel and Augier. Looking forward to trying this.

Love this cognac. I got my bottle for $109. The price has since gone up to about $150. Sad, but I have plenty left. Great review, cheers!

This is one that I will have to find according to your description…
