Cognac Review: Hennessy XO

Cognac Review: Hennessy XO

Rum cake, raisins, cinnamon, spices and nutmeg.

Red licorice, cinnamon, cloves, milk chocolate and hazelnuts.

Long, black pepper accented red fruits like strawberries, currants adorn a backbone of Swiss milk chocolate.

Highly recommended cognac.

PS. In this review I state the age of the eau de vie used in this cognac range from 10 to 70 years and the average age of eau de vie is 45 years. I am not sure that claim is legit anymore. Here is the website where I saw that claim:

I have left a comment asking them to advise.

This is the downfall of my unscripted and unedited reviews.

All the best,

Are you going to try Remy Martin V? Looks like a good mixer spirit

foodquig says:

Great review, Jason! One of these decades I’m going to break down and get some Cognac… So far, it’s baby steps. I tried sherry and port for the first time this weekend. I preferred the port to the sherry, but it may have been an exceptionally good port and it may have been a so-so sherry. The only way to know for sure is to try as many as I can just like with the whisky… Life is too short!

Great Review !

Ray Scott says:

Jason buddy..are you a politician.

UnboundOdysseus says:

Is there any way to know which cognacs add boisé to their product? Boisé is far more disturbing than E150A, though I’d rather not have that either. Cheers!

Lee Hotti says:

How much did you get that cognac? I read most XO cognac are aged below 10 years because of very high demand. Even if they say it has 70 year old eau de vie, it might be in very small amounts like less than 5%.

Ryan Gould says:

Keep Up The Cognac Reviews Jason , I Collect Cognac As A Hobby Haha , But Great Review Jason Well Done 🙂

erwingarcia72 says:

By any chance have you tried the Hennessy Master Blenders No. 1?

JasonWhiskyWise says:

Great review Jason, this is one of my preferred XO’s
