Grands Domaines VSOP Cognac Review

Grands Domaines VSOP Cognac
Aged at least for 4 years. Single estate company, using Fin Bois, Petitie Champagne and Grand Champagne Ugni Blanc grapes. 40Abv
First impression August 22 2018, 4:12pm.

Appearance: honey, with a tint of yellow on the edge.
Nose:Aspect of a greenery summer month. A start of Candied fruit, fresh apricot(P), white carnation(P), grape vines, strawberry, fresh peach, papaya, lemon wine cat pee, honey, basket weaving, hint of smelling salts, hint of vanilla, fresh pear, light/white sand, menthol, green oak, hint of toasted oak,
Palate:Easy and softly. Sweet wine, vines(P), sultanas, tobacco box, dried apricot, rounded candy apple, hint of underwood, dried cinnamon, quince, white pepper(P), hair touch of rubber, honey, tea, white carnation, Angelica root(?),
Finish: Very easy- no harm at all. Spices rise up nicely. Dry Vines linger on. Sour coffee grounds flash.

With a few drops water:
Nose: Floral, flower stems(instead of grape vines),
Palate: Like the VS expression, minus the heat. Eau de vie spirit, coffee grounds, dry earth, dry red apple.
Finish:Some spice appears, but otherwise still very easy.

Recommended for everyone- better than Boncourt XO. Easy and pleasant. Has more of an edge of the VS expression, though the price paid between seems accurate. 86Pts of 100.
