Adios Motherfucker Cocktail (AMF), Now With More Yelling!

One of the more highly requested cocktail recipes, it is right up there with the Long Island Iced Tea. The Adios Motherfucker, A.M.F or AMF cocktail is constantly being searched for because of its crazy mysterious ingredients. Okay, it’s not that crazy, you’re looking at about the same design as the Long Island Ice Tea with blue curacao and no triple sec (with citrus soda instead of coke).

The recipe name suggests this is the only thing you’ll have before you fall down, but it’s really not that bad. It doesn’t have too much alcohol all things considered, but if you drink enough of them (like most cocktails) you’ll fall down. At almost 3 oz. of alcohol per drink, we’ve had stronger with just as little attention to the alcohol burn.

But, again, it’s hugely requested. We’ve done it once on the channel, now it’s time to do it again.

+Common Man Cocktails Here in Oregon the bars apparently can’t have drinks with curse words in the name so we call this a windex…. is this as moronic to you as it is to me?

Malvandra says:

1:50, Ian can always make me laugh, haha.

af100984 says:

I feel like I am obligated to make this. My initials are AMF…I’ll be making this shit tomorrow.

Pengothing says:

I’m curious, if someone asked for it, how would you use a very peaty whisky in a drink? I’m a big fan of Ardbeg 10 and have been wondering is there a way to make it work in a mixed drink.

lamelama22 says:

Was bored (& it interested me), so I did the math on using Brita filters. 4pk filters $18.99 at Target. Rated for 40 gallons, though alcoholics on the internet say it only lasts 1/2 as long filtering alcohol, so 20 gallons.

=> math => costs 4.72¢ to filter a std 750 mL bottle once, 23.6¢ if filtering it 5 times. and 6.27¢ to filter the larger std 1.75 L bottle once, 31.35¢ if filtering it 5 times.

Super worth it if it even remotely works, even in America. From everything I’ve read, it takes bottomshelf crap & makes it close to (but not quite as good as) top shelf stuff. They even sell kits w/ inline filters to do it now… (you can also use charcoal filtering w/ bulk charcoal & coffee filters if you really want to save $, making the total filter costs more like a dollar)

Joe Mumme says:

Thanks for gin recommendation.

matthew goullette says:

blue chair or sailor jerrys

Kent J says:

On vodka, I followed a recommendation you made on trying Titos. I really like it and the price isn’t bad, about 25 a bottle. On bourbon I’ve been buying lately Evan Williams, its cheap, 12 dollars a bottle, and to me has a good taste.

Jeranhound says:

I don’t have the greatest experience to compare it to, but the 2 best vodkas I’ve had are the Costco imported vodka, which I really don’t think is worth the cost, and a brand whose name I don’t remember that’s imported and bottled in San Diego, so I’ll probably never see it again. Was a $15-20 bottle my friend got me for my 21st birthday and it was so nice compared to smirnoff or any of the other brands I’ve tried.

Really wish I could recall the name or I could track down who made it, see if the same stuff’s sold by any other brand. Ah well, there’s always Smirnoff.

eagles01211 says:

in addition to looking like Hypnotiq, it also looks like the pangalactic gargleblaster.  Although I assume this one tastes a little better

brett megan says:

if you go to the farm in manchester they know how to make this cocktail now. i asked for it there and had to tell them how to make it… under your direction of course and it was amazing

Mattfuzzy says:

funny thing is if you dont get all the addatives in the european vodkas… well… the reason why people drink them in europe is because “all the americans and celebs” love them… bahaha.
always prefered russian standard to be honest (and i rarely drink vodka at all) no perfume like snirmoff and if the advertising is to be trusted its produced by continuous distillation so will be alot smoother compared to other distilled spirits.
note: cheap bootleg/home distillers filter their vodka moonshine spirits to make them taste better, although if you produce top quality distilled spirits, itd still cost you £1/1000ml… so no real need to filter unless you produce 1930’s grade crap to start with…

Reece Fitzgerald says:

There is a bourbon around here that is cheaper than Jim Beam ($16) and the bottle I had was just as good in my opinion. Its called Kentucky Tavern its only $9… Also I was just wondering is there any other brand of blue curacao you would recommend to use… I can’t seem to find the brand you use anywhere around here

S.W. Lahr says:

#1 Wild Turkey 101,#2 Evan Williams

James Collins says:

Jesse James American Outlaw Bourbon. Its a quality whiskey but last time I bought a bottle it was like $19.

brett megan says:

bird dog whiskey is pretty decent for the cost but it is flavored. peach is the best of their product in my opinion

Reece Fitzgerald says:

Went to the liquor store today and stumbled upon a whiskey that made me think of the question of the day from this video and thought I’d add this to my previous comment. Its called Triple Crown, it is extremely nice for the $16 price tag…

brett megan says:

i love the New Amsterdam gin. great product

TheJusnic82 says:

Grey Goose vodka in my opinion is one of the best…blows ketel away …id actually have to say it is thee best vodka…im not a big vodka drinker but to me grey goose tastes like…well nothing…it has absolutely zero taste and zero burn and that is why I think it is the best vodka

Bryon O'Brien says:

For an even better twist substitute you Sprite/7Up with Mountain Dew. We were on a vacation and making this drink and for some reason every store was out of Sprite, so we went for the Dew, and PHENOMENAL! We call it Novocain because of the mint green surgical look and the fact that just a few had our faces numb.

Flintquatch says:

I really like the Cruzan line, and they are very cost efficient

Bryan Usrey says:

Smirnoff vodka, Johnnie Walker Black, Beefeater gin, Benchmark bourbon.

MrJacob1981 says:

At the bar I used to work at they would top it with 151 🙂

Oishii Panda says:

I always go for a cheaper bottle of Evan Williams over JD because I really don’t taste the difference and I haven’t met anyone that does

CWFMcAllister says:

any time i go to a new place i order this drink (as a “blue motorcycle” in nc)…it’s my favorite drink

Ryan Lewis says:

Poor man’s captain = Calico Jack Rum

Soul Destroyer says:

There’s nothing like Colonel Sanders and Captain Morgan

Sigurdur Hreggvidsson says:

Have you tasted KATLA vodka https://www.facebook.com/KatlaVodka?ref=hl ? that is some prime vodka

Maddolis says:

Mount Gay Eclipse would be my go-to cheap rum.
Foursquare spiced comes pretty close though. I like the way the Eclipse mixes with coke but Foursquare works better as a sipper (though I use them both as mixers).

Aaron McQuilty says:

Grey Goose 700ml is $72.99 in Brisbane, Australia.
2 Pack Brita filter is $20.00.

Somethings we get ripped off for.

Andrew Trigueros says:

New Amsterdam is dynamite i tried it on your recommendation, its incredible for its price point. Cant beat it for a low cost Gin. So much citrus great for new Gin drinkers.

ChipSkylarkk says:

I had a BLUE MF at the bar the other day..any idea whats in that instead? No sour mix maybe? Or just that bars AMF?

dinosaurpotatoes says:

Jim Bean Red Stag…….What do you think of that??
