Aloha BrewTube:

In this episode of DJs BrewTube, I switch gears a bit and review Kirkland Signature Blended Scotch Whisky Aged 24 Yrs. Kirkland Signature Blended Scotch Whisky Aged 24 Yrs. is a blended whiskey that clocks in at 80 proof or 40% ABV and is a blend of bourbon, rye and Scotch. Kirkland Signature Blended Scotch Whisky Aged 24 Yrs. is descried by Costco as follows::

“Combining the knowledge of some of Scotland’s master distillers, and using only the purest waters from Scotland’s Highland lochs, this Kirkland Signature Scotch Whisky was matured for almost a quarter of a century in hand-picked ex-Bourbon Oak casks. The result is a blended Scotch that is dark amber in color with aromas of freshly sliced apples and malted barley. It is full-bodied with notes of toffee, dried fruit and oak. These flavors linger on the palate and give way to a long, smooth, warming finish..”

This all sounds quite nice Lets see if High West Campfire lives up to the promise of the prose. My written review follows:

Kirkland Signature Blended Scotch Whisky Aged 24 Yrs. REVIEW:

A = Kirkland Signature Blended Scotch Whisky Aged 24 Yrs. pours a rich caramel color with a few golden amber glints when held to the light. Tons of alcohol leg tear down the glass when swirled.

S = Caramel, dark fruit, butterscotch super mild smoke and raisins dominate and butterscotch the nose on this one. This is followed by citrus, brown sugar, wood, molasses and just a hint of vanilla.

T= Caramel, dark fruit, butterscotch super mild smoke and raisins dominate and butterscotch the nose on this one. This is followed by citrus, brown sugar, wood, molasses and just a hint of vanilla. After a minute anise, a biscuit like quality, a slight corn bit of wood start to creep in and make themselves known. Such a tasty dram.

M = Smooth, clean and oily. Goes down easy with gentile warming in the chest.

O = Kirkland Signature Blended Scotch Whisky Aged 24 Yrs. is a great blended Scotch for a bargain basement price. It has enough complexity, to make it unique and its balance makes it one you want to drink again not just as a novelty. It is easy to drink and quite enjoyable. If you see it at to your local Costco give it a go. You will be pleasantly surprised.

I like your review. I want to talk to those who say negative things about Costco brand liquor. Don’t compare them to other brands of the same class. Compare them to other brands of same price. For example, compare this 24-year-old scotch at less than $50 to other scotch that cost about the same. You won’t get a 24-year-old scotch for $50. Instead you will get a 12-year-old scotch of a name brand. I don’t have to drink them to know that Costco’s 24-year-old scotch is so much better than any 12-year-old scotch of any brand. My staple drink is Costco’s 12-year-old scotch. For the price of that bottle, you may get Johnny Walker Red or any other inferior scotch. You need to compare them price-to-price.

Going to have to try this

Robert Fohl says:

“Honey, I’ll be right back, I’ve got a few things to pick up at Costco…”

Dallas Bagley says:

They usually state if they DON’T put Caramel coloring in it. Otherwise, it’s usually a given, especially for something like Costco brand.

HammerFred says:

Price Club Scotch?!?! :O …I’m was thinkin’ DJ lives further south than I, ’cause they don’t sell alcohol in MD stores. Interesting review…I dunno’ about a giving this as a gift though? They might be like,”Costco Scotch?!?!…”cheap mutha’ f*ckas.” 😀 Also, we like Johnny…just can we get him an ACTUAL shirt? I mean, I haven’t seen arms like that since Betty White stopped wearin’ short sleeves… :O No scotch for me tonight, but I am currently enjoying a nice Dino S’mores Coffee…Cheers!

Earth says:

Hahaha! Always entertained when Jonny shows up!
