Definitions for Clarity:

Single malt Scotch is single malt whisky made in Scotland. To be a single malt scotch the whisky must have been distilled at a single distillery using a pot still distillation process and made from a mash of malted grain.

A blended scotch whisky is made by combining several single malts with wheat and/or corn whiskies in column stills.

I started with Dalmore 12 year and loved it. Glenlevit 12 and Lagavulin 16 were next and now I’m hooked. I’m always on the lookout for the next good bottle and your videos have given me some great ideas. Thanks for making these videos and cheers.

So, I have a bottle of Monkey Shoulder, and liked it at first. Then I started acquiring bourbon, and really liked the flavor of it, and now not so much of Monkey Shoulder. Monkey shoulder is the only Scotch I have, and wonder if Scotch is for me. Can this be true? My dad had me try a glass of a Scotch that did taste like a camp fire log, and I know that peat is not for me. Oh, I am only about 3 months into my Whisk(e)y journey.

Jeroen Lamberts says:

Dalwhinnie 15

sam baram says:

Bill Vegas says:

I liked this video very much. BUT anyone can recommend 12 year olds on up. Don’t get me wrong I love ’em all. But when you are not trying to impress anyone and don’t want to spend a fancy steak dinner’s worth of money on a bottle here’s a cheap blended that used to be very popular back in the day but is almost unheard of now in the USA… Ballantine’s. Their entry level bottle will be priced Below the J&B and Cutty Sark but it drinks a whole lot better. To steal an old beer slogan… “when you’re having more than one.” –'s

Philsky says:

Confused. Didn’t you just review Chivas (review 98 I think ) and say you were underwhelmed? Or is this CR of a different aging?

Mustafa Baris says:

Anyone enjoying Talisker ? ?

Mikey Riley says:

I’m not sure about Johnny walker, but The glenfiddich 12 and for the blends Chivas Regal 12 was surprisingly good too.

Vat69 should be a starter it is so smooth, i started with it.

Joey Merrell says:

My first scotch was a glenfiddich 18….I’m ruined for life. I love the smokey oak and savory notes. It changes flavor like 5 times and blushes smooth.

Chris Lowes says:

The Balvenie Double Wood , Bowmore 12 or Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban are very smooth.
