LiquorHound’s Top Tequilas Under $30

So here I review some of my favorite tequilas under $30. I tried to pick bottles that are widely available, and yet high in quality for the price point. The list includes Cabrito Blanco at $22, Camarena Blanco at $16, El Padrino Blanco at $24, El Padrino Anejo at $29.99, 100 Anos Anejo at $20, El Caballo Estrella Anejo at $23, El Jimador Anejo at $25, Gran Centenario Anejo at $27, El Toro de Lidia Anejo at $29, Hornitos Anejo at $23, and
Hornitos “Black Barrel” Anejo at $26.

As of 7-2017, my current bottle count stands at over 2,400 bottles. I am a Certified Specialist of Spirits and have also been certified by the Tequila Regulatory Council (CRT). I’ve been actively collecting for the last two decades and what started as a small basic home bar has transformed (with the help and understanding of my wonderful wife) into what I think is a pretty nice collection. Thank you for watching and sharing in my passion.

Tucson JJ says:

I think Camarena blanco is a GREAT value, a little pure water really helps smooth it out and bring out the flavors… I am lloking forward to Padrino…

rockindrop says:

Hey LiquorHound – question: i’ve heard that non-blanco tequilas (like reposados, anejos, etc.) sometimes have added sweetener and/or flavors. any info on whether or not this is true and if there is a way to tell?

Shingen Ozumi says:

Thanks for this wonderful video LH. Even though this is more on flavor and scent/aroma profiles and there’s no clear winner because like you always said preference is subjective. I guess I would just pick the brand that’s almost empty in your selection. Great stuff. Cheers Sir LH!

Jordan Kassabaum says:

How do you feel about Milagro Silver?

Mega Noob says:

I just bought a Gran imperio heradura for 24 dollars by faaaaar I mean by far one of the best tequilas I have ever had I can say it’s up their with the don Julio 1942 smooth reposado

Hey, glad to have you back, was just thinking I hadn’t seen one of your videos in a while.

WreckTangle says:

Nice lineup! Personally I would have replaced the Camarena with Olmeca Altos just bc I really hate Camarena but that’s just my opinion. Cool video LH! Keep them coming

Daniel Feldman says:

Siete Leguas Blanco is very good.

Interested to hear your thoughts on the Espolon line.

Kane Smith says:

This reminds me, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you talk about Mezcal. I am about to complete collecting & tasting the entire El Jolgorio and Del Maguey line ups, it was difficult but well worth the effort!

the great all mighty G says:

open bottle collections or you buy double? how long can you store open? great video!

Tom Peebles says:

Thats the name of that stuff. I just called it dead goat tequila. Anyways that Cabrito stuff is good good good.

foodquig says:

Impressive! It’s a whole nother universe besides whisky…

degmar says:

Given how little time that tequila spends in the barrel, what do you think causes the taste variation between brands?

Mega Noob says:

El jimador is very good but I get a nasty hang over with it

AaronP says:

Great reviews, I’m always looking for great affordable tequilas

donte creamer says:

Do u have a cognac line up review?

Oivind Jakobsen says:

Hi ! Long time overdue. I’ve hated bourboun since i got drunk as a young student in Norway on cheap Southern Comfort 😉 I ‘ve then find your review on the Four Roses Single Barrel and bought it and it was AMAZING ! I still love it but have moved on to the Nikka Coffeey Grain Whisky since I’m mainly a whiskey man. Love your professional reviews and have now subscribed 🙂

drunkensessions says:

Where’s that OLMECA amigo?

TheElectricCentaur says:

Great review. Looking forward to trying some of these. Gran Centenario has always been one of my go to tequilas. Cimarron Blanco was recommended to me and I was pleasantly surprised. It was a decent sipper for about $20.

Gold 08 says:

Have you done a don julio real review?

Peter P. Nguyen says:

Any plans to review the Hochstadter’s 16 Year Rye? I think that’s a real under the radar candidate for whiskey of the year along with the beloved Al Young.
